San Francisco Education Fund
The San Francisco Education Fund’s volunteers work with students across San Francisco Unified School District public schools, but we work most deeply in a small number of Focus Schools in San Francisco’s most under-served neighborhoods. These are schools with limited resources.
We recruit, train and place individual and corporate volunteers in classrooms to work as tutors, mentors, interpreters and special event support. We provide additional resources to teachers through Innovation Grants and use school data to measure and learn from student success.
We focus our resources on three critical milestones that research shows accelerate students’ progress on the path to high school and college graduation: 3rd-grade literacy, 8th-grade math proficiency and college and career preparedness in high school.
